TLG IMMOBILIEN lets 1,200 sqm of office space in Berlin to MeinFernbus FlixBus

- Lease to begin latest October 2015

- Three-year lease (with 2x5 years extension option)

- Rental space formerly used by TLG IMMOBILIEN's Northern Branch

Berlin, 2 July 2015 - MeinFernbus FlixBus will move into an office totalling approximately 1,200 sqm at the Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 33 in Berlin by no later than 1 October 2015. The lease agreement with TLG IMMOBILIEN AG was signed at the beginning of this week.

MeinFernbus FlixBus' new offices are located in the building's second storey. The building, next to Berlin's Alexanderplatz, belongs to TLG IMMOBILIEN's core portfolio. The initial term of the lease agreement is three years. After that initial term, however, the tenant has twice options to extend the term by a period of five years in each case.

The majority of TLG IMMOBILIEN's office property portfolio is located in Berlin. Additional office property portfolios are located mainly in regional economic centres such as Dresden, Leipzig and Rostock. Tenants for TLG IMMOBILIEN's office properties are primarily economically strong private companies and publicly owned entities.

In the coming weeks, the newly let office space will be transformed into the new home of MeinFernbus FlixBus' cross-divisional European Service and Operations unit. The customer service, operations and quality management divisions and numerous other teams will manage the company's international operations from this office. Establishing a central unit to service the company's European operations will create numerous jobs and make Berlin an even more attractive location.

About MeinFernbus FlixBus

MeinFernbus FlixBus traces its roots back to 2011. Jochen Engert, André Schwämmlein and Daniel Krauss formed FlixBus GmbH in Munich. Simultaneously, Torben Greve and Panya Putsathit formed MFB MeinFernbus GmbH in Berlin. The objective of both start-ups was to become an affordable, convenient and sustainable alternative in the long-distance travel sector.
MeinFernbus began operating its first line in April 2012 and FlixBus celebrated its maiden trip shortly after long-distance coach travel is liberalised in Germany in early 2013. Both companies rapidly established themselves as leading long-distance coach providers, championing successful "Made in Germany" business models. While MeinFernbus quickly became the market leader after Deutsche Bahn lost its monopoly status, FlixBus was singled out as the best long-distance coach provider in Germany by the consumer organisation Stiftung Warentest. The two then merged in January 2015 to become MeinFernbus FlixBus.
From the beginning, both MeinFernbus and FlixBus relied on close partnerships with well-known small- and medium-sized coach companies: operating under a strong umbrella brand, regional bus partners - primarily family-owned businesses - assumed route operations and serviced lines with modern fleets of luxury coaches complying with a uniform and strict set of quality and safety standards. The responsibilities of the MeinFernbus FlixBus teams in Berlin and Munich include network planning, customer service, marketing, ticketing, pricing and sales.
Sustainability is another priority at MeinFernbus FlixBus. Long-distance coaches are already extremely environmentally-friendly means of transportation. MeinFernbus FlixBus takes this one step further, giving its passengers the opportunity to help offset in full the CO2 emissions generated by their trip.
